Heidelberg Castle Illuminations
of 6 June 2009
The castle is lit by Bengal fire and boats lie packed tightly together, waiting just like the thousands of spectators along the two roads by the river and the Philosophers' Path for the fireworks to begin.
Here the fireworks seem to come directly out of the water, both above and below the Old Bridge.
A magnificent end to – as always – a wonderful firework show. All was of course followed by resounding applause and the appreciative foghorns of the yachts on the Neckar River.
Come to Heidelberg and experience the fireworks, as one can only experience them here.
For the first time since it was renovated the Old Bridge shines brightly under the new spotlights.
The lighting on the Old Bridge and the bluish lights along the bank make a wonderful contrast to the castle.
A little way down the Neckar are anchored passenger boats which have come from all over to enjoy this unique spectacle.
